We offer 35-day returns on eligible items: request a Return Authorization (RA#) within 35 days of delivery, and your return must reach us within 21 days after the RA# is issued.
Items must be unused, in new condition, and in original packaging with all accessories. For non-defective returns you pay return shipping; original shipping charges are not refunded, and if your order shipped free our actual outbound shipping cost is deducted from the refund. This is the black screw that holds the handle fork backplate on Kirby's Classic-era machines, part 174996S. It fits the Classic 1CR, the Classic Omega 1CB, the Classic III 2CB and the Tradition.
Fasteners like this are the reason a repair stalls. The original is often seized in place, rounds off as you try to back it out, or is simply already missing from a machine that has been apart before. Without it the backplate cannot be pulled up tight, so it sits proud of the fork, rattles as you clean, and the exposed edge catches on things.
The black finish matters on these machines, since a bright steel screw stands out against the fork on a restoration. Order a spare alongside the backplate if you are working on a Kirby of this age; the odds of the original coming out cleanly are not good.
