We offer 35-day returns on eligible items: request a Return Authorization (RA#) within 35 days of delivery, and your return must reach us within 21 days after the RA# is issued.
Items must be unused, in new condition, and in original packaging with all accessories. For non-defective returns you pay return shipping; original shipping charges are not refunded, and if your order shipped free our actual outbound shipping cost is deducted from the refund. Suction loss with a motor that still sounds strong points to an air leak somewhere in the path rather than a motor problem, and on these compact canisters that leak often sits right at the front cover. Part 590461 seals that exact junction on Eureka and Sanitaire canisters in the 3670 family.
Unlike an upright, where a heavy housing can stay closed on its own weight, a canister depends entirely on its cover forming an airtight boundary, which puts real pressure on this one small gasket to keep doing its job. Rubber like this loses its spring and settles into a flattened shape long before it shows any visible cracking, and once that happens the cover closes without actually sealing, letting air slip in around the latch rather than travel through the hose where the vacuum needs it.

A telltale ring of dust settling right at the seam of the cover, or a latch that no longer takes the same firm push it once did to click shut, are both signs pointing at this seal rather than the motor or a full bag. Clean out the groove the gasket sits in completely before pressing a new one into place, so it seats flush all the way around instead of riding up on old debris somewhere along the channel.
This same weakness applies to any canister that gets set on its side or dragged by the hose rather than carried, since the extra flexing at the seam speeds up how quickly the gasket loses its shape. Check the seal any time the machine seems to lose suction after being knocked around on the job.
