Product details
On the Fuller Brush FBP-14WBP upright the brush roll is driven by a poly-V belt, part B014-1400. It runs flat, with lengthwise ribs that key into matching grooves on the motor pulley and the roller, so the drive is positive rather than a matter of friction alone.
What you notice when it goes is agitation, not suction. The machine sounds normal, the hose still pulls, but carpet takes two or three passes and the roller can be stopped with light pressure from your foot. Heat and hours glaze the ribs, the belt stretches, and it begins slipping under load before it ever snaps. A burnt rubber smell after a long run is the same warning.
Fitting a fresh poly-V restores full brush roll speed. While the guard is off, clear the hair wrapped around the roller ends so the new belt is not fighting a bound roller.
