This OEM Hoover cloth bag protector plate for the Convertible fits Model 91 and similar uprights. The plate shields the outer cloth bag where it meets the machine, guarding the fabric against rubbing and wear at that contact point.
Without an intact protector plate, the cloth bag chafes against the housing and can fray or tear along the seam over time. Fitting a fresh plate restores that barrier so the bag keeps its shape and seals properly against dust escaping at the joint.
