Hoover Park Switch Kit - CH...

Product details

On an upright, the park switch is what tells the machine the handle has been returned upright. This kit, Hoover part 440013838, replaces that switch on the Hoover CH95519 and the Oreck BK95519.

Two symptoms send people looking for it. The first is a brush roll that keeps turning with the handle parked, which will burn a mark into carpet if the machine is left standing. The second is the reverse, where the vacuum will not run at all when the handle is lowered because worn contacts never make the circuit. Both trace back to the same contacts losing their bite.

The kit puts correct handle-position control back. Unplug the machine before you open the housing, and check the handle pivot for play while you are in there, since a sloppy pivot shortens the life of the new switch.
