Product details

The diverter plunger and knob from a Bissell ProHeat PowerSteamer, part 2145170, is the control that decides where the solution goes: down to the floor for carpet, or out through the hose to the upholstery tool. The knob sits on the outside, the plunger it drives sits behind it.

What owners notice first is usually a knob that turns without doing anything, or a machine that keeps spraying at the floor when the hand tool is what needs the water. That is the diverter rather than the pump. The shaft wears at the flats, the plunger seal hardens, and the assembly stops travelling fully between its two positions.

It fits ProHeat and PowerSteamer models including the 1620, 1697, 1698, 1699, 1699-1, 1699-8, 1699-A, 7901, 7920, 7950, 8804, 8805 and 8910. Confirm the number on your machine before ordering.
