Product details
A machine that flickers off as the handle is moved, then comes back when it is set upright again, is describing its own fault. Strands inside the handle wiring have broken and the circuit is opening and closing with the flex. Part 5298ER is the SEBO handle cable and the ordinary cure for that complaint.
The cable runs the length of the handle tube, carrying both supply and switching between the grip and the body of the machine. Every push, pull and lean puts a small bend into it, and the bends concentrate at the terminations at each end rather than spreading along the run — which is why a cable can look perfect and still be broken inside the insulation a centimetre from a connector. Intermittent operation, a machine that only runs at one handle angle, or a switch that has become unreliable without ever feeling different are the symptoms worth acting on.
Fitment covers the SEBO AUTOMATIC X1, X2, X4, X4 Boost, X5, X7 Premium, X7 Pet and X8, together with the ESSENTIAL G1, G2, G4 and G5. Two related numbers help place the order: on the ESSENTIAL machines SEBO also lists a complete handle with cable, 5624AM, if the tube or grip is damaged as well, and the separate run inside the body of the vacuum is the internal cable 5299ER, which is a different part. Mains wiring is not everyone's work — where there is any doubt, hand this to a qualified vacuum technician.
