Hoover Agitator End Plate -...

Product details

Right-hand agitator end plate for the late-model Hoover 913, part 41436502, also fitting the 91 and 918. It supports the drive end of the brush roll and keeps it aligned across the nozzle opening.

Note both qualifiers before ordering: this is the right side, and it is the late-model plate. Hoover changed the plate partway through the 913's production run, and the earlier and later versions look similar enough to be confused across a parts counter.

What usually sends people looking for it is a brush roll that has started to grind, sit unevenly, or throw its belt. A worn plate lets the roller drop out of line, so the bristles bite hard on one side of the carpet and barely touch on the other, and the belt walks off its pulley under load. A fresh plate puts the roller back square.
