The 45 wye PVC vacuum connector (SKU 509) is the 3-way fitting used to tie a branch line into the main line of a central vacuum system. Its angled 45-degree branch merges the two runs of central vacuum pipe together, which is exactly what you want when adding an inlet valve or splitting a trunk line to serve another part of the house.
Two installation notes from MD: confirm the system's airflow is adequate before adding a branch, and pay attention to orientation — a wye must never be installed backwards. The branch should merge into the main line in the direction of flow.
