The Little Green HydroSteam draws its cleaning solution from a removable clean tank, part 163-8900, that holds the mixed water-and-formula solution and sends it on to the machine's spray system while you work a stain or spill.
Because this tank is refilled and reseated on the machine every use, wear tends to show first at the cap threads or the base gasket: a cap that no longer bites down tight, a gasket that has flattened and will not hold a seal, or a corner that has gone brittle and cracks under normal handling. Any of these lets solution weep out before it ever reaches the spray nozzle, and a cap that has been cross-threaded even once tends to leak again no matter how carefully it is reseated afterward.
