Bissell Dirty Water Tank As...

Product details
Trim color is what separates this recovery tank from the other one Bissell builds for the TurboClean upright. Part 164-1205 is finished in GrapeVine Purple, and its job is to catch the soiled water and lifted debris the machine pulls up, holding all of it away from the clean solution supply.
The manufacturer's parts listing gives this tank for the 3738, 3745, 3746, 3748 and 3748N. Age tells on the seal first, which flattens until it can no longer hold vacuum, and on the corners of the tank, which split after a knock while the tank is being carried to a sink. Both faults look identical from the user's side: pickup falls off, and the carpet stays damp behind the machine.
- Part: 164-1205 dirty water tank assembly
- Fits: Bissell TurboClean upright, models 3738, 3745, 3746, 3748 and 3748N
- Color: GrapeVine Purple
Check the model number and the trim color on your machine together before ordering, since the same tank is produced in more than one finish.
If pickup has dropped off but the tank still looks sound, empty it, put it back on and run the machine for a moment with your ear near the tank, listening for air being drawn in around the rim instead of through the nozzle. A tank leaking air at the rim has lost its seal even when nothing about it looks broken.
