This genuine Bissell Separator Assembly is the cyclonic separation component for the PowerClean cordless stick vacuum, fitting models 4026, 4031, 4037, and 4052. The separator is the internal cone-and-filter unit that spins incoming air to fling dust and debris into the dirt cup while keeping the motor's airflow path clear.
When the separator becomes clogged, cracked, or coated with fine dust that won't rinse out, suction falls and the filter clogs faster. A fresh separator (Part #164-6964) re-establishes proper cyclonic action so the vacuum holds its suction and the dirt cup fills the way it should.
