This genuine SEBO carbon brush set, with capacitor, is Brush M for the 3049ER motor with pulley used in the Duo. The carbon brushes ride on the motor commutator to carry current into the spinning armature.
Carbon brushes wear down steadily with use, and as they shorten the motor starts to spark, lose power, or run intermittently. Left too long, worn brushes can damage the commutator. Renewing the set as a matched pair keeps power delivery smooth and protects the motor.
