These nail guards (Part #33450) protect central vacuum pipe and low-voltage wiring from accidental punctures by drywall screws, nails, and trim fasteners. Measuring 1.5" x 2.75", each metal plate mounts over the face of a stud where central vacuum tubing crosses, forming a hardened barrier that deflects fasteners before they can pierce the pipe or sever a control wire.
Hidden pipe runs are easy to hit once walls are closed up, and a single nail through a central vacuum line means an expensive in-wall repair. Installing nail guards at every stud crossing is standard best practice and is required by many building codes. This box contains 100 guards, enough for a full residential installation.
