This grooved serpentine poly-V belt (Part #40966) is the smaller of the Kenmore #5218 serpentine belts, replacing Kenmore style 5218 / PH5 and belt number 5PH282. It measures roughly 3-3/8 inch diameter by 5/13 inch wide and drives the brush roll on Kenmore Progressive power nozzles and the Cen-Tec CT18DXQD power nozzle.
The poly-V rib pattern locks into the matching grooves on the power head motor pulley, delivering a positive, non-slip drive that keeps the agitator turning at full speed. Because two similar serpentine belts fit Kenmore #5218 nozzles, this is the smaller-diameter version, so match the size carefully.
