Brand-new Lamb Ametek 117508 vacuum motor (SKU 200R) — a factory-original Ametek unit, not a rebuild. The 117508 is a two-stage motor with a wide 7.2" bottom diameter, used in select central vacuum brands and models, and it replaces the 117508 only. Check your old motor's label: markings of 7508 or 11-7508 identify the same motor.

Signs it is time to replace: a popping mini breaker, electrical smell, excessive blue sparking from the motor top, a lone click at startup, or intermittent self-shutdowns; expected motor life is 900–1,200 hours. If you hear no click at all, suspect the relay first. The job is manageable for a homeowner — three to four screw brackets plus a couple of wire connections, with printable step-by-step instructions available. To extend service life, the 117508's carbon brushes can be replaced before the motor fails (order two). No core exchange applies.
