This cogged drive belt (Part #87601+008+4610) is the replacement brush roll belt for the Oreck Halo upright vacuum. A cogged belt has molded teeth on its inner surface that lock into a toothed pulley, so it drives the brush roll positively without the slipping that smooth belts suffer once they wear.
That toothed engagement matters on the Halo, where the agitator must keep spinning at a steady speed to lift dirt, hair, and grit from carpet. If the brush roll stops turning, runs intermittently, or the vacuum clatters, the cogged belt has typically stripped a tooth, split, or worn.
