This PVC plaster guard 2-pack (SKU 519) protects central vacuum backing plates during new-construction rough-ins. Mounted over the backing plate before drywall goes up, the guard shields the inlet opening and low-voltage wires from drywall mud and paint, and it shows drywallers exactly where to cut the opening for the future inlet valve.
A scrap of cardboard can do the same job in a pinch, but these guards are purpose-made for the job. Two are included per pack; contractors stocking up can enter 125 for a full case.
